Sailors fall to Whitney

NEWPORT BEACH — Kasey Thompson had 11 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Sailors in the nonleague game Saturday.

Mandy Legault had nine points and eight rebounds, while Alex Morton had five points and 11 rebounds for Newport Harbor (10-12).

Mimi Gibson provided stellar defense, as she helped the Sailors get within four points late in the game, Coach Justin Long said. But Newport was forced to foul, and Whitney held on for the win.
