ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Mikah Maly-Karros had 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Anteaters in the nonconference game Monday in front of 7,140 at The Pit.

Kiara Belen came off the bench to add nine points for the Anteaters (0-2), who had 23 turnovers.

Jade Smith-Williams and Jacquelyn Marshall had eight points apiece for UCI.

The Lobos made nine of 22 three-point attempts to improve to 1-1.

NAIA Championships

Vanguard University will play at Golden State Athletic Conference rival Azusa Pacific in the first round of the NAIA Tournament on Saturday.

The Lions (13-7) defeated Azusa Pacific, 3-0, in the GSAC Tournament final Saturday. APU is 16-4-1.

It’s the first NAIA Tournament appearance for Vanguard, which forfeited six victories earlier this season.
