Them rallies to earn 3-3 tie

Them, an AYSO Region 5 (Fountain Valley) Under-16 girls’ soccer team, wrapped up its fall season Saturday by rallying to play Long Beach (Region 177) to a 3-3 tie at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.
Them was down early, 3-0, but turned things around in the second half to earn the tie.
Jordi Emrich got Fountain Valley on the board 16 minutes into the second half when she scored off a pass from Kalie Hauber. Brittany Stevens then scored three minutes later on a feed from Emrich and Hauber scored the equalizer with 12 minutes left in the game.

Three Huntington Beach Jr. All American Football teams emerged from the first-round of the postseason playoffs Saturday as winners.
The Jr. Future League Oilers (ages 5-6) handled the Fullerton Bears with ease, rolling to a 38-18 victory. The team, made up of just 10 players, closed out their season Saturday with a bowl game appearance.
The Jr. Clinic Oilers, who finished their regular season with a 5-2 record, dominated the Orange Chiefs, 30-12. Huntington was up, 14-12, at the half and then dominated in the second half behind a stout defense and efficient offense.
The Oilers continue their playoff run at 5 p.m. Saturday against Bellflower.
The Jr. Midget Oilers and South Gate Aztecs played a tight game Saturday, but Huntington pulled away in the second half and prevailed, 36-22. The score was tied at the half and remained deadlocked until four minutes remained in the game when the Oilers scored the go-ahead touchdown. They scored again on the game’s final play on an interception return.
Huntington plays a second-round playoff game at 12:30 p.m. Saturday against Norwalk-Santa Fe Springs.
