Eight players honored

Eight players from three local schools have landed on the 2010 All-Sunset League boys’ volleyball team.

Named to the first team were senior opposite Torey Darrin, senior middle blocker Ryan Smith and junior libero Michael Brinkley of Edison. Edison senior setter Jeff Newella and middle blocker Nick Capriccio were named to the second team which also included senior outside hitter Chad Hoppe of Marina and senior outside hitter Chris Van Vuuren and junior opposite Trent Kursten of Fountain Valley.

Senior setter Brett Anderson and senior opposite Chris Hartig of league champion Esperanza, shared the MVP honor.
