Sea Kings edged by Cowboys
SAN BERNARDINO — The Corona del Mar High baseball team saw its season end, coming out on the wrong end of a pitchers’ duel Tuesday at Cajon of San Bernardino.
Cajon pitcher Tanner Clark led his team to a 2-0 win in a wild-card game of the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs.
Clark struck out seven and gave up just four hits in his shutout to improve to 9-1.
Corona del Mar junior pitcher Eric Morris (6-4) wasn’t that far off, striking out four with no walks, while giving up only four hits and one earned run.
Cajon (18-8) moves on to play at Rancho Alamitos Thursday.
“They were a great defensive team,” said CdM Coach John Emme, whose team ended the season at 11-17. “I think they had a pretty good offensive team too, and they would have shown if they weren’t facing Morris.”
