Former Orange Coast College baseball standout Eric Wagaman hit two home runs and drove in six runs in his professional debut on Thursday.
Wagaman, a 13th-round draft pick of the New York Yankees, was two for four with a three-run home run in the sixth inning and a two-run shot in the eighth for the Pulaski Yankees of the rookie Appalachian League in Pulaski, Va.
Pulaski defeated the Princeton Rays 7-2.
Wagaman hit 14 home runs and had 49 RBIs to earn first-team All-Orange Empire Conference honors for the Pirates in 2017. He had committed to play at Houston, but signed this week with the Yankees.
The 6-foot-4 first baseman belted three homers against College of the Canyons on Feb. 28 and blasted two against Fullerton on April 6. His single-game high for RBIs at OCC was four.
