Breakers fall at Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Orange County Breakers lost on the road to the Washington Kastles, 22-15, on Wednesday in a World Team Tennis match.
The Breakers’ two set wins came in doubles. In mixed doubles, Andreja Klepac and Ken Skupski beat Martina Hingis and Treat Huey, 5-3.
Orange County’s Teymuraz Gabashvili and Skupski beat Washington’s Huey and Frances Tiafoe, 5-4, in men’s doubles. But Washington won in women’s doubles, as Hingis and Anastasia Rodionova topped Klepac and Yanina Wickmayer, 5-1.
The Kastles (2-1) then finished off the match with two singles wins. Madison Brengle beat Wickmayer, 5-1, in women’s singles, and Tiafoe followed with a 5-3 win over Gabashvili in men’s singles.
The Breakers fell to 1-2.
Orange County plays at New York on Thursday.
