Newport Harbor boys’ water polo team earns big road win at Foothill

Makoto Kenney and Jack White each scored twice as the Newport Harbor High boys’ water polo team beat Foothill on the road, 7-4, in a key nonleague match Wednesday.
Kenney also had two steals and two ejections earned, while White had five steals for Newport Harbor (3-0). Ryan Brosnan had a goal, a steal and two assists, John Rankin also scored and Jackson Westerman had a goal, a field block and four ejections earned.
Goalie Max Sandberg made eight saves, three steals and two saves on Foothill penalty shots.
Newport came into the game ranked No. 3 in CIF Southern Section Division 1 and 2, with Foothill at No. 7.
The Sailors play at the Bishop’s School on Saturday before another key nonleague game at Harvard-Westlake on Tuesday. Harvard-Westlake is ranked No. 4 in Division 1 and 2.
