Laguna Beach loses to St. Margaret’s 48-7 in football

Laguna Beach High suffered its fourth straight setback, losing a nonleague football game at home to St. Margaret’s 48-7 on Friday night.
The Breakers (1-4) have a bye next week before they open Orange Coast League play on the road against defending champion Godinez on Oct. 6. Laguna Beach finished in second place in league last year at 4-1, a game back of the Grizzlies.
Godinez (2-2), ranked No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section Division 12 poll, edged visiting Rancho Alamitos 28-27 on Friday.
St. Margaret’s, No. 5 in Division 7, improved to 4-1 overall.
