Laguna Beach loses to Godinez in Orange Coast League opener

Laguna Beach High’s football team opened Orange Coast League play with a 38-14 loss to defending league champion Godinez at Santa Ana Valley High on Friday night.
The Breakers (1-5, 0-1 in league) have lost five in a row since winning their season opener. Laguna Beach plays host to Costa Mesa (3-3, 0-1) on Oct. 13.
Godinez (3-3, 1-0), which has won its past nine league games dating back to 2015, returns to Santa Ana Valley High to face Saddleback (1-4, 0-1) next week.
