Ex-’Eater Jock sixth at outdoor nationals

Former UC Irvine All-American Charles Jock finished sixth in the 800 meters at the USA Track & Field Championships, completed Sunday at Sacramento State.

Recent UCI graduate Lloyd Sicard advanced to the semifinals of the 110 high hurdles at the same meet.

Jock’s time in the final was 1 minute, 49.90 seconds.

Sicard’s time of 14.12 seconds was 16^th overall. He ran into a 1.7-mile headwind. Sicard finished in 13.95 on Saturday to advance to the semifinals.

On Friday, UCI’s Isaiah Jewett was 16^th in the 800 semifinals. Jewett will be a junior in the fall.
