High school roundup: Laguna Beach, Los Amigos girls’ soccer teams advance to CIF quarterfinals
Senior Emerson McCune and sophomore Reilyn Turner scored as the Laguna Beach High girls’ soccer team beat Lancaster Eastside 2-1 on the road Tuesday in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.
Laguna Beach (12-9-2) plays at top-seeded Menifee Paloma Valley in a Division 4 quarterfinal on Friday. Paloma Valley (17-0-2) defeated Palm Desert 5-0 in another second-round match.
Los Amigos 3, Immaculate Heart 1: Vidalia Abarca, Kimberly Gil and Mya Rodriguez scored for the Lobos in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs Tuesday at Glendale Community College.
Los Amigos (13-5-5) plays host to Baldwin Park Sierra Vista in a Division 5 quarterfinal match Friday. Sierra Vista (14-4-3) beat Santa Ana 1-1 (4-1 in penalty kicks) on Tuesday in another second-round match.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO
Laguna Beach 7, Los Alamitos 3: Freshman Nicole Struss scored three goals for the Breakers in a CIF Southern Section Division 1 fifth-place semifinal match Tuesday at Santiago Canyon College.
Sophia Lucas scored two goals for Laguna Beach (22-3), while Alex Peros and Molly Renner also scored. Thea Walsh made 12 saves.
The Breakers will play Corona del Mar on Thursday in the Division 1 fifth-place match. The teams have played once before this season, with Laguna earning a 3-2 nonleague victory on Jan. 17.
Corona del Mar 10, Orange Lutheran 9 (OT): Chloe Harbilas had four goals and seven steals for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s CIF Southern Section Division 1 fifth-place semifinal match at Santiago Canyon College.
Carter Britt scored twice while Sophie Wallace had a goal, two assists and five steals for Corona del Mar (22-6). Layne Anzaldo, Grace Myers and Megan Peterson also scored for the Sea Kings, who play Laguna Beach for fifth place on Thursday.
