High school roundup: CdM girls’ water polo finishes fifth at Santa Barbara TOC
Chloe Harbilas and Sophie Wallace each had four goals as the Corona del Mar High girls’ water polo team beat Los Alamitos 11-5 in the fifth-place game of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions on Saturday at Dos Pueblos High.
Layne Anzaldo scored twice for CdM (15-3), which got a goal and four assists from Ella Abbott and eight saves from Erin Tharp.
Earlier Saturday, the Sea Kings beat Santa Barbara San Marcos 8-3 in a fifth-place semifinal game. Wallace had three goals and three steals, while Harbilas and Anzaldo each scored twice. Megan Peterson added a goal for CdM, and Tharp made 12 saves.
Tharp was an all-tournament team selection for CdM, which returns to Pacific Coast League play Tuesday at home against University.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Estancia 39, Godinez 37: Alex Hendricks made the game-winning shot at the buzzer for the Eagles in Friday’s Orange Coast League game at Godinez High.
Hendricks had a game-high 20 points for Estancia (14-8, 3-3 in league), which moved into a third-place tie in league with the Grizzlies (12-12, 3-3).
Estancia plays at Saddleback on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Newport Harbor 47, Los Angeles Central City Value 40: Freshman forward Willa Rath had 15 points and 21 rebounds to lead the host Sailors in a nonleague game on Saturday afternoon.
Junior guard Lexi Alvarez supplied a full stat line, scoring seven points while collecting eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals.
Sophomore forward Chloe Swanson added seven points and 17 rebounds, while senior guard Eunice Nacho contributed six points, six steals and three assists.
Newport Harbor (8-12, 2-4 in league) resumes Sunset League play at home against Fountain Valley (8-15, 1-5) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

GIRLS’ SOCCER
Sage Hill 1, Crean Lutheran 1: Freshman Lexi Van den Bosch scored the tying penalty kick goal in the 75th minute for the Lightning in Friday’s Academy League game at Sage Hill.
Junior goalkeeper Michelle Hung had five saves for Sage Hill (9-6-1, 4-3-1 in league), which plays Calvary Chapel Downey on Monday at 3 p.m. at Apollo Park.
