Edison High senior wrestlers Elijah Palacio and Jared Williams medaled on Saturday in the Battle for the Belt at Temecula Valley High.
Palacio took fourth at 132 pounds after recording two pins and two major decisions to advance to the championship semifinals. The Calvary Chapel transfer was dropped into the consolation draw after losing a 6-2 decision to reigning 113-pound state champion Jesse Vasquez of Corona Santiago.
Williams won his first four matches by fall before being pinned by De La Salle senior Peyton Omania in the third period of his semifinals match.
Chargers coach Pete Escandon said that Williams tweaked his ankle in the match against Omania. He was held out of action the rest of the way, defaulting to sixth place.
