CYPRESS — Sophomore Jasmine Matar had 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pirates in the championship game of the Cypress tournament on Sunday at Cypress College.
Matar made 10 of 19 field-goal attempts for OCC (2-5), which received 11 points and five assists from Nicole Beaudoin.
Danielle Obong had 10 points and four rebounds for OCC, which defeated West Los Angeles, 69-66, in the semifinals on Saturday.
Against West L.A., Matar had 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Beaudoin added 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Cal State Northridge 70, Vanguard 58
NORTHRIDGE — DeAngelo Jones had 20 points Saturday for the visiting Lions, for whom the game was an exhibition and does not count on their record.
Jones made four of seven three-point field-goal tries.
Chris Gorman had 15 points, while Keith Mason added 10 points and six rebounds for Vanguard.
Northridge, for which the game counted, improved to 3-7.
Vanguard plays host to William Jessup in a Golden State Athletic Conference clash on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
