VU’s Heenan honored

Vanguard University senior Kelly Heenan was named Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week in women’s volleyball for the week ending Nov. 9.

Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product and libero, had 25 combined digs in road sweeps against Arizona Christian (Nov. 4) and San Diego Christian (Nov. 8).

She also had nine assists and four aces in the two wins, after which her 457 digs ranked second in the conference.
