Vanguard def. Hope International
Rachael Barker had 11 kills to lead the No. 15-ranked Lions to a 25-15, 25-10, 25-17 Golden State Athletic Conference win at the Pit Saturday.
Jessica Neves had eight kills, Kelly Heenan led with 20 digs and Ashli Bellinger had 11 digs for Vanguard (17-5, 5-3 in conference).
Hope International is 5-16, 1-7.

LONG BEACH — Allison Lee hit .522, knocking down 13 of 23 attempts with just one error to go along with nine digs and an ace for the Anteaters, but the 49ers won the Big West Conference match, 25-18, 25-21, 25-15 Saturday at the Pyramid.
Aly Squires led UCI (11-11, 2-6 in conference) in digs with 11 while Shelley Anderson totaled 26 assists and eight digs.
Long Beach State is 12-9, 5-3.

Vanguard 4, Hope International 1
FULLERTON — Four Lions scored to help the visitors dominate the Golden State Athletic Conference game Saturday.
Luke Kadillak, Nahum Paz, Bryan Ponce and Angel Maldonado helped Vanguard (7-6-1, 3-4-1 in conference) build a 4-0 lead.
Juan Arenallo had both assists for the winners, who received five saves from Luca Licciardi.
Hope fell to 3-12-1, 2-5-1.

FULLERTON — Jordan Davidson and Veronica Aguilar both had a goal and an assist to pace the visiting No. 6-ranked Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Saturday.
Davidson scored in the seventh minute and Aguilar added what would become the game-winner in the 49th minute.
Vanguard is 13-2, 6-2 in conference.
Hope fell to 3-10-3, 1-6-1.
