Junior right fielder Adam Alcantara went two for four with one run batted in and senior third baseman Jonathan Munoz was two for four for the host Anteaters in the Big West Conference game Saturday.
UCI scored in the first inning and the Matadors (33-21, 11-12 in conference) tied it in the fourth and scored three in the fifth to assume control.
Starter Alonzo Garcia allowed four runs on four hits in 42/3 innings for UCI (30-25, 10-13).
Sean Sparling and Dylan Riddle both worked scoreless innings in relief for the Anteaters.
The series and the UCI season concludes today at 2 p.m.

NCAA West prelims
LAWRENCE, Kan. — UC Irvine junior Matt Seawright finished 21st in the hammer throw to pace the Anteaters at the NCAA West Preliminary Round at Rock Chalk Park.
Seawright’s mark was 199 feet, 10 inches as the event resumed Friday morning after being suspended due to weather Thursday.
Seawright will compete in the discus throw Saturday at 7 a.m. (PT).
In the 400-meter hurdles, UCI’s Brandon Howard placed 31st overall with a time of 52.68 seconds and Cameron Vaca was 43rd in 54.97.
Lloyd Sicard competes in the 110-meter hurdles Saturday at 10 a.m. (PT) with the top 12 finishers advancing to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 8-11.
