Cal State Northridge 72, UC Irvine 63

Irene Chavez led the Anteaters with 15 points in the Big West Conference game Thursday.

CSUN out-rebound UC Irvine (3-16, 0-4 in conference), 56-35.

The Matadors (13-6, 3-2) pulled down 34 defensive rebounds and had 22 offensive boards which led to 24 second-chance points.

Forwards Shereen Sutherland and Ashley Merrill each totaled 12 points, which is a career-high for Merrill. Forward Mokun Fajmeisin added nine points and six rebounds, while forward Methlyn Onogomuho had seven points and six rebounds, Guard Raelyn Cheung-Sutton had a team-high five assists in 19 minutes of action.
