IRVINE — Alex Morton had 25 points, 15 rebounds and nine blocks for the Sailors in quarterfinals of the Corona del Mar Tip-Off Tournament Thursday.

Kasey Thompson had six points and seven rebounds, Mandy Legault had six points, five rebounds and four steals and Kelly Lesueur had two points and eight rebounds for Newport Harbor (2-0), which plays against host Northwood in a semifinal tonight at 7:30.

BALDWIN PARK — Junior Josie Jogwe scored a hat trick for the Sailors in their season opener Thursday.

Jenna Castillo and Jennifer Munoz scored two goals each, while Mary Yeager and Natalie Swift added one goal apiece for Newport Harbor (1-0).

Newport Harbor 66, Buena Park 53

BUENA PARK — Cody Caldwell scored 19 points for the Sailors in a pool-play game of the Buena Park Coyote Classic Thursday night.

David Brown added 13 points and Craig McKennon had 10 points for Newport Harbor (1-0), which will face Kennedy in pool play today at 5:30 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Ilene Umansky scored four goals for the Eagles in the nonleague game Thursday.

Goalie Alexis Paul had 14 saves for Estancia (1-3), which will play today against JSerra in the Santa Ana Valley Tournament at Orange High at 4:40 p.m.
