DAVIS — Aly Squires had 13 kills and Shaina Olsen had 10 kills for the Anteaters, who lost the Big West Conference match, 25-17, 18-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-9, Saturday.
Squires also led with 22 digs for UCI (5-7, 0-2 in conference).
UC Davis is 16-1, 2-0.

STANFORD — Sophomore Steven Melena finished 42nd to pace UC Irvine to an 11th-place team finish Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course.
Melena finished the 8,000-meter course in 24 minutes, 52 seconds.
UCI’s 317 team points were 290 behind victorious Stanford.

STANFORD — UC Irvine senior Melissa Mead, a Newport Harbor High product, finished 69th to pace the Anteaters on Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course.
Mead finished the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 12 seconds.
