SANTA BARBARA — Corona del Mar High finished fourth in the tournament after losing to Esperanza in the third-place match, 25-14, 25-21, 25-20, Saturday.

Joey Martino had 10 kills to lead CdM (15-9).

Manhattan Beach Mira Costa beat the Sea Kings in a semifinal, 25-17, 25-12, 25-20. Tommy Brooks led CdM with seven kills.

SANTA BARBARA — Peirce Ward had 13 kills to help lead Newport Harbor to a 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 win over San Marcos and a ninth-place finish in the tournament Saturday.

Steven Duhoux had 10 kills and Scott Russell had 21 assists for the Sailors (18-5).

Newport Harbor began the day with a 25-22, 25-21, 25-17 win against Fresno Bullard. Ward had 13 kills, Kevin Rakestraw had 15 kills, Clay Carr had 12 kills and Duhoux had 42 assists.
