The Laguna Beach High boys’ water polo team won a CIF Southern Section championship less than a month ago. On Monday, the Breakers added to their memorable season by earning top honors on the 2014 All-CIF Southern Section Division 3 Boys’ Water Polo Team.
Five members of that title-winning squad made the team led by senior Jack Dodson, who was named Player of the Year for the division. Additionally, Laguna’s Ethan Damato was named the division’s Coach of the Year.
Making the 14-player CIF team from Laguna were seniors Cade Baldridge, Aki Andersen and Jakob Colladay.
In 29 games in which he played, Dodson was second on the team in goals scored (69) and first in both assists (43) and steals (58).
Dodson and Baldridge shared the MVP award on the 2014 All-Orange Coast League team. Andersen and Colladay were first-team all-league selections.
