Five student-athletes and one head coach took honors last week when the Laguna Beach High Athletic Boosters presented their annual All Sports Awards.
Recipients of the 2014 awards were:
Coach of the Year: Ethan Damato (water polo).
Athletes with highest GPA: Rory Saunders (4.69); Makenzie Fischer (4.59).
Female Athlete of Character: Jordan Hartman (softball).
Male Athlete of Character: Lucas Capobianco (boys’ volleyball).
Female Athlete of the Year: Makenzie Fischer (girls’ water polo, swimming).
Male Athlete of the Year : Noah Blanton (boys’ basketball, boys’ volleyball).

The Breakers started their summer schedule Monday and split their first two games in the Ocean View Summer League. The Breakers opened with a win against Los Amigos and lost to Warren.
