Youth Scene Reimers shines in win
McKenna BMW defeated Zero Trash, 4-1 in six innings of Laguna Beach Little League AAA Division action at Riddle Field Tuesday behind a stellar pitching performance by Ben Reimers.
Reimers handled Zero Trash’s lineup racking up nine strikeouts and allowing only one earned run in 4 1/3 innings. Alex Neufeld closed the game for McKenna which sits in first place in the division.
McKenna lead-off hitter Luke Machin reached base safely all three times with two singles and a walk.
McKenna got off to a quick start scoring two runs in the first inning on a RBI single by Noah Liao. Jimmy Redfern also contributed with two RBIs in the second inning.
The lone run for Zero Trash came in the third inning on a RBI single by Joey Capobianco.

In AA Division action:
La Sirena Grill 9, Ebell Club 4
On a summer-like evening Monday, La Sirena Grill defeated Ebell Club in a well-played game.
La Sirena was lead by the pitching of Cade Anderton (1 2/3 innings, one hitter, no runs allowed, four strikeouts), Redmond Chesley (1 2/3 innings) and Jackson Baldwin (2/3 of an inning, no hits, no runs). Baldwin served as La Sirena’s closer and struck out the final two Ebell batters he faced to end the game.
Baldwin and Zade Harrison lead the La Sirena offensive attack, each getting on base all three times they went to the plate. Anderton had a hit and scored twice, Chesley had a hit and two RBIs, Luke Fetzer doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice, Oliver Rounaghi had a hit, RBI and scored twice, and Lucas Durand drove in three runs.
Ebell was led by the strong pitching of Owen Van Es who went 2 1/3 innings to keep the game close. Ebell was stellar in the field, making five putouts.
Max Brown (single, RBI, run scored), Parker Smialowicz (double, two RBIs), Hudson Blake (single) and Parker Gapp (single, RBI), hit safely for Ebell. Merrick Vellumure reached base on all three of his plate appearances.
