Whale goes sight-seeing in Laguna

The first blue whales of the season passed by Dana Point last week, according to Dana Wharf Sportfishing & Whale Watching’s general manager, Donna Kalez. Meanwhile, at least one gray whale decided to take a peek at the shore in Laguna Beach.

This young gray whale was spotted in Laguna on a warm day when the beaches filled with visitors, according to Kalez.

The blue whales, with babies in tow, are traveling by a little early this season as they head north to Alaska.
