Shoe boxes of holiday joy wanted

Operation Christmas Child will be collecting shoe boxes filled with gifts at Calvary Chapel in Huntington Beach for donation to needy kids around the world.
The shoe boxes will be delivered by “bus, train, boats, bikes and even elephants” to youngsters in more than 100 countries, a news release said.
The boxes can be filled “toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement,” the release said.
Participants can track their donated boxes by filling out a donation form for $7 at https://www.samaritanspurse.com.
Operation Christmas Child is a nationwide project of Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief organization.
The donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 to 23 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Nov. 24 at Calvary Chapel, 7800 Edinger Ave.
