Two men who died in a Halloween night crash on a 73 Freeway offramp have been identified, according to the Orange County coroner’s website.
Esteban Dimas-Alonzo, 42, of Santa Ana, and Victorino Benites, also 42, both died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the coroner’s website said.
Dimas-Alonzo and Benites were among four people in a 2001 Ford F-650 truck that overturned while trying to turn from the south offramp onto Laguna Canyon Road, a California Highway Patrol news release said.
The crash occurred at 5:42 p.m. when the truck struck a guardrail and tipped onto its passenger side, the release said.
The driver, a 53-year-old Lake Elsinore resident, as well as another passenger, a 39-year-old Santa Ana resident, sustained major injuries and were taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, the CHP release said.
The coroner’s office had not yet released Benites’ city of residence as of 10 a.m. Monday.
No arrests were made, the release said, and the CHP is investigating.
