Huntington Beach police are reminding parents to check their children’s Halloween candy after a child was found to have ingested methamphetamine.
According to authorities, a child was taken to an Orange County hospital Sunday afternoon after appearing to be suffering the effects of the drug.
Police said the child had been eating candy received on Halloween in the residential area of Beach Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue.
According to Huntington Beach police Lt. Mitch O’Brien, evidence indicates the child ingested methamphetamine, though it was not clear if it was from the Halloween candy. He said police are still investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Ryan Reilly at (714) 536-5967.
