Powder found at apartment complex thought to be safe
A hazardous-materials team, FBI bomb technician and local emergency personnel responded this week to a Costa Mesa apartment building after management found a suspicious substance.
Employees at the Enclave apartment complex at 400 Enclave Circle discovered white powder in an envelope and called police about 5 p.m. Monday.
Testing by Orange County Crime Lab technicians preliminarily determined that the powder was safe, but they will be conducting further tests to confirm that, according to a news release from the Costa Mesa Police Department.
Costa Mesa police detectives are asking that anyone with information about the case call them at (714) 754-5205.
