Shed catches fire at Bayview Place

A house storage shed caught fire Tuesday afternoon, though no one was home at the time of the blaze, Laguna Beach fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse said in an email.
The fire occurred at 2:57 p.m. at 671 Bayview Place and firefighters from the Laguna Beach Fire Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded, according to a subsequent fire department news release.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but were concerned of swimming pool chemicals mixing with pesticides within the shed, the release said.
An OCFA hazardous materials team determined there were no pesticides within the structure, and the fire did not reach the house, according to the release.
At this time, investigators do not know what caused the fire.
