A 16-year-old boy was being treated for life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car, according to Fountain Valley police Tuesday.
The incident occurred about 8 p.m. Sept. 24 at Slater Avenue and Ward Street. Authorities said a Lexus IS300 sedan was eastbound on Slater while the teen, who was on a skateboard, was traveling south on Ward.
Witnesses told authorities that the boy entered the intersection against a red light.
Upon impact, the driver of the Lexus stopped the vehicle and its passengers tried to help the victim before he was transported to UCI Medical Center, according to police.
