Police arrest man suspected of growing pot plants

A Fountain Valley man was arrested Tuesday after police found numerous marijuana plants being grown and more than 10 pounds of dried marijuana at a residence, according to a statement from Fountain Valley police.
Donald Simpson, 56, was booked in Orange County Jail on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, authorities said.
He posted $25,000 bail on Wednesday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s website.
Police served a search warrant at Simpson’s residence on the 17600 block of San Marino Circle. Investigators found 31 marijuana plants being grown in the back and side yards of the residence, according to authorities.
Police also found 10.6 pounds of dried marijuana with a street value of $100,000, according to authorities.
