Fountain Valley adds police officer

The Fountain Valley Police Department is adding a new officer to the force, according to a department press release.
Officer Mitchell Martinez will be sworn in by Chief Daniel Llorens on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Fountain Valley Council Chambers at 10200 Slater Ave.
Prior to joining Fountain Valley, Martinez was an officer with the Rialto Police Department. He also worked at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles as a custody assistant.
Martinez also served as an infantry machine gunner for the Marines for four years and did two combat deployments to Iraq.
