Citizens academy starts March 20
The Costa Mesa Fire Department invites members of the community to participate in the 11-week citizens academy that begins next week.
Among the activities in the program are fire training, engine operations, a dispatch tour and a round table with the fire chief. Participants will see daily operations of the fire station and meet members of the Fire Department.
The academy typically meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, except March 30, when it meets at 9 a.m. The first meeting is March 20 at fire station 4, 2300 Placentia Ave.
The citizens academy is free, but pre-registration is required.
