UC Irvine police have arrested a man suspected of multiple burglaries on the campus.
A school employee on Tuesday saw Edward Obledo, 62, trying to break into a work room in the Social Ecology 2 building, police said.
When the employee asked Obledo why he was trying to get into the workroom, he fled, according to police.
Soon after, officers found Obledo and arrested him on suspicion of burglary, disruption of a university campus and an outstanding warrant for receiving stolen property. He was booked at Orange County Jail.
In March, police had arrested Obledo in the same location for more alleged burglaries. They also recently arrested him in January on suspicion of illegal lodging.
Obledo has been previously convicted of receiving stolen property, theft of lost property and trespassing, UCI police said.
