Police: Missing baby found
An 11-month-old girl reported missing was found Monday in Irvine, according to Costa Mesa police.
The child had been last seen in the 3100 block of Cassia Avenue in Costa Mesa, and residents were notified using automated system AlertOC.
Passersby spotted the child strapped in her car seat at Irvine Valley College and contacted police about 1:03 p.m. Monday, according to Irvine Police Lt. Bill Whalen.
She appeared to be in good health, but as a precaution she was taken to Hoag Hospital, Whalen said.
She is in the custody of officials, Whalen said.
Detectives are interviewing the child’s parents trying to establish a timeline of how the girl got to the community college.
