Man arrested after hit-and-run
A Huntington Beach man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a traffic collision that injured a 29-year-old female motorcyclist.
Fountain Valley police responded at 4:30 p.m. to the collision at the intersection of Talbert Avenue and Mt. Washington Street. The motorcyclist was traveling west on Talbert when an SUV made a left turn in front of her and struck her, according to a release from the department. The motorcyclist was ejected onto the sidewalk and suffered a traumatic leg injury.
The driver fled before officers arrived, and police later detained Douglas Jenan, 75, a short distance away, the release said. Jenan was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and booked at the county jail, Sgt. Kurt Ulrich said.
The motorcyclist, whose injuries are not considered life-threatening, was transported to a local hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call (714) 593-4484.
