Remodeled Boudin’s to reopen (updated)
Boudin Bakery at Metro Pointe at South Coast is reopening with a newly remodeled kitchen allowing for an expanded breakfast menu, according to a company spokeswoman.
The San Francisco-based bakery and cafe, which closed March 26, will reopen June 26, said Dave Wolfgram, CEO of Boudin.
The first 100 customers will receive a year’s worth of free bread loaves — one fresh-baked loaf a day. The event will also coincide with a fundraiser benefiting Share Our Selves, with bakery patrons encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to be donated to the Costa Mesa-based charity.
Changes to the bakery include a complete interior remodel to duplicate the bakery’s San Francisco location, a larger kitchen to support the expanded menu and additional patio seating.
The bakery known for its Original San Francisco Sourdough French Bread serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, averaging between $6 and $10, as well as ready-to-go meals for the family. The bakery also serves beer and wine.
Popular menu items include the Boudin classic turkey cranberry sandwich, $7.19; artesian sandwich with pesto and roast beef, $7.49; and classic sourdough burger, $6.99.
