Laguna police welcome new officer

Laguna Beach police have announced a new addition to the department.

Officer Michael Dippel, previously of California State Parks police, has joined LBPD, according to a press release.

Dippel had been with the parks police for the last three years, and he had various assignments that included patrolling in Los Angeles and Orange County as well being a drug recognition expert, weaponless defense instructor and a member of the Marijuana Eradication Team, the release said.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from Humboldt State University.
