Police arrested two men in Corona del Mar after a resident caught the pair breaking into his home, police said Monday.
Taveres O’Shawn Spriggs, 32, of Lomita and Harry Lee Gradney III, 22, of Houston were arrested Friday on suspicion of residential burglary, according to the Newport Beach Police Department.
About 11:50 a.m., a resident heard noises coming from the back of his home in the 700 block of Cameo Highlands Drive. When he went to check, he saw two men. He surprised them by yelling.
The pair then allegedly fled in a black vehicle.
The victim provided police with a description of the vehicle, which led to the arrests of Spriggs and Gradney about one and a half miles away, near Iris Avenue and East Coast Highway, police said.
Both men are being held in Orange County Jail, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department website.
