The Island Hotel has hired a new executive chef and food & beverage director, according to a news release.
David Man, former chef de cuisine and executive sous chef for the Newport Beach hotel, was hired as executive chef. Most recently, he held chef positions at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach and the Diamond Club and Knothole Club at Angel Stadium.
Joseph Orichiella, a 20-year hospitality industry veteran, was hired as food and beverage director. Prior to joining the Island Hotel staff, he was assistant general manager of Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos, Calif.
“We have selected Man and Orichiella as the key leaders to initiate and implement an exciting new direction for our culinary and food & beverage teams,” said Island Hotel Managing Director Rick Evanich in a prepared statement. “They will be instrumental in helping us redefine and elevate the hotel’s luxury dining experience, including the enhancement of current offerings, expanding our core business and creating new opportunities for their teams and our visitors.”
