Harbor teachers bring moves to dance competition
Newport Harbor High School’s teachers will show their stuff for a good cause this week.
Harbor’s dance team is putting on a performance of “Dancing with the Teachers” at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Robert B. Wentz Theater in the Norman Loats Performing Arts Center on campus, 600 Irvine Ave.
Teachers will team up with dance students to perform a student-choreographed number. Audience members will vote for their favorite teacher.
French and Spanish teacher Melissa Branch will open the show with members of the dance team followed by social studies teacher Bob Lear; science teacher and surf coach Matt Burns; English teachers Cindy Borisoff and Quinn Corbitt; social studies teachers Jennifer Thompson and Keira Kirby; science teacher Karin Nieto-Chaney; science teacher John Brazelton; and Spanish teacher Carlos Alcazar.
Tickets are $10 at the door. The money raised with benefit the school’s dance program.
