Irvine teen, 14, is still missing
Authorities Friday were still trying to find an Irvine teen who had gone missing.
Alan Rose, 14, was last seen by his father at 6 a.m. Tuesday. School officials called his father to report he had not attended classes that day. Based on an investigation, Irvine police believe Alan could be headed to Mexico.
In another matter, a boy who was struck Tuesday morning at Culver Drive and Portola Parkway remained in intensive care, but police said his injuries were not as severe as originally believed. He was being treated at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
The boy was on his way to Orchard Hills Elementary School. Irvine police are working with school officials to identify ways to improve safety in the intersection.
An investigation is being conducted regarding a car crash at Culver and Farwell Avenue. The wreck killed a 77-year-old woman. The woman was driving eastbound on Farewell when she was broadsided by a van headed southbound.
