Police seeking help in New Year’s stabbing
Police are asking for anyone who witnessed a stabbing death outside the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa hotel early New Year’s Day to help them with additional information.
Detectives speculate that given the size of the crowd at the party that night — more than 5,000 people — someone would have taken photos or video with a cell phone of the attack.
Police said Adam Randy Baker, 23, of Dana Point, stabbed Robert Sickles, 27, in the chest and killed him. Baker is charged with murder and has pleaded not guilty. He’s free on $1-million bail.
Police urge anyone with photos or video of the incident to call Det. Kevin Condon at (714) 754-5361 or Sgt. Ed Everett at (714) 754-5395.
