Men get Day of Self-Esteem

COSTA MESA — Working Wardrobes is getting ready to transform the lives of 125 men who are recovering from homelessness, alcohol or substance abuse.

The 14th annual Men’s Day of Self-Esteem is designed to help them find the confidence needed to transition into the workforce by providing them with new professional attire and grooming services, according to a release issued by the Costa Mesa-based nonprofit organization.

The event, which is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Los Amigos High School, 16566 Newhope St. in Fountain Valley, rewards the men for completing a series of Career Success workshops provided by Working Wardrobes.

The workshops teach them the skills needed to apply for work, get interviews and land jobs.

The self-esteem day is in collaboration with the Men’s Warehouse, which served as a drop-off location in 42 of its stores throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties in September. Men’s Warehouse is also giving a new dress shirt for every suit that was donated to the cause, the release stated.
