Man suspected of stabbing in fight downtown
A Huntington Beach resident has been accused of stabbing a Pomoma man during a July 20 fight downtown, officials said.
Robert Jason Cannon, 22, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Lt. Russell Reinhart said.
Police were called about 5:11 p.m. to a fight among several men in the 700 block of Pacific Coast Highway. Officers found that the 20-year-old Pomona man had been stabbed in the chest and sustained other injuries, all non-life-threatening, Reinhart said.
Alcohol didn’t appear to play a role in the incident, he said.
Cannon was released from the Huntington Beach Jail the same day on $25,000 bail, officials said.
Orange County Superior Court records show he hasn’t been charged as of Wednesday.
