Man wants city to pay for wrist fracture
A Chino Hills man wants more than $150,000 for a broken wrist he asserts the city is responsible for.
Robert Marc Sherwood, 42, filed a claim May 13 after his bicycle tire allegedly tripped over a crevice in a bike path and flipped over in Huntington Beach.
Sherwood was riding Nov. 14 on a path on Pacific Coast Highway, north of Seapoint Avenue. He bike flipped when he hit a hole in the path on the right side that was covered with sand, according to the claim.
Sherwood fractured his left wrist in the fall, according to the claim.
The city was negligent in maintaining the bike path along Pacific Coast Highway, allowing it to deteriorate with cracks and potholes, and “chunks” missing from it, according to the claim.
