Wildlife center has baby shower
Everyone likes a baby shower, but the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center upped the ante by throwing one for small, fuzzy baby animals Saturday.
Raccoons, ducklings, squirrels and just-hatched snowy clovers, a bird that looks like a cotton ball on a toothpick, were on view at the second annual baby shower. The center cares for and rehabilitates native wildlife in its Huntington Beach facility.
Guests were asked to make a cash donation to help the center keep caring for animals, or donate fleece blankets, bulk fleece, cotton flannel receiving blankets, bleach, low-suds dry laundry detergent, Dawn dishwashing liquid and antibacterial hand soap.
The center also needs donations of small and medium pet crates, 45-gallon, heavy-duty trash bags, latex or nitrile gloves, fast-read thermometers, dog and cat food, and industrial washers and dryers.
