Newport chamber awards volunteers

The Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce recognized volunteers from the local business community at its annual meeting and volunteer appreciation reception.

The chamber presented Silver Anchor awards to Laurel Zaeske of Rus, Miliband & Smith, APC, and Dan Hamilton, former owner of Malarky’s Irish Pub, for their volunteer service over the past year.

Zaeske joined the Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors in 2003 and served as chairwoman from 2008 to 2009.

Hamilton has been a member of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Commodores Club since 1998.

He served as commodore skipper from 2008 to 2009.

The chamber has presented the annual awards for more than 40 years to individuals who volunteer to serve the chamber in various capacities.
